Artwork Description
////////// (EN) Xicalcoliuhqui-inspired geometries—stepped, spiraling forms rooted in Mesoamerican design—anchor a cast-aluminum false bird-of-paradise flower. The line rises, breaks, and returns; a dragonfly alights like a stroke of air upon the structure. The silvered surface shifts with the light, marked by a foundry process akin to lost-wax casting. Between flight and stem, the work holds an in-between time: impulse and stillness, impulse and memory. Nature is abstracted, ritualized, reshaped—beauty as lure and record; likeness as a delicate imprint of desire, preservation, and control.
